Allyson Mertins, o.d.

For over 20 years, Dr. Allyson Mertins has provided the highest quality vision care to Northwest Arkansas. After graduating magna cum laude from Drury College and Southern College of Optometry, she started her career with McDonald Eye Associates as an optometric physician and Director of Refractive Surgery.

In 2006, she launched Mertins Eye & Optical with the mission to provide concierge level eye care and handcrafted luxury eyewear.

Dr. Mertins is a co-founder and vice president of Buffalo Development, Inc. a local nonprofit program that helps young athletes race competitively at the highest levels of cycling and develop the character, skills, and tenacity to reach their goals on and off their bikes. She also serves on the board for Vision Arkansas, the charitable foundation of the Arkansas Optometric Association and is a passionate supporter of Restore Humanity and its programs in rural Kenya and NWA. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking and spending time with her family, all avid mountain bikers.
